Second half of college math practice test

Last night I took the second half of the CLEP college math test. I was able to get the 30 problems done with 13 minutes to spare. There are a disproportionate amount of problems dealing with probability and permutations. They are something that, while I did study, I didn't do so at a great length. We will have to see how I did tonight.

I found out to my slight annoyance that the college math test is not a valid test for a core math requirement at Excelsior. Meaning I need to take the CLEP college algebra test to fulfill that. I think I will get either a past or future version of the CLEP study guide that way I have a couple practice tests for each test.

I think I will get the 17th version now and the 19th when it comes out in August...

Half of practice test

Yesterday I did half of the Princeton Review practice test for College Math test. I did 30 questions in just over 45 minutes. My impression is that it is very easy, but if I don't move along (not spend too much time on any question) I will run out of time. I will do the other test tonight hopefully...

Incidentally, I also talked to the secretary at the Music department at Andrews. She was very helpful in a unhelpful way. Dr. Logan should be back Friday from a meeting in DC and I need to go back to her to get a key for the practice room.

Reading about CLEP tests

Sunday I did some reading about the CLEP tests in the new books I got.

I believe at this point I can successfully take and pass the IT/Computer whatever test and the College Mathematics test. I need to do the practice test out of one of the book to make sure though.

I spent about 2-3 hours reading...

Last week

I did a lot last week and I haven't taken the time to document it.

Monday and Wednesday mornings I spent quite some time researching Excelsior and TESC and the other options. I did some looking into what I could go on to I got a BS in business. Capella.edu allows Master students with any BS. aiuonline I believe is the same.

I got my packet of info from Excelsior last Tuesday and it had a lot of good info. I am debating between getting a BBA via CLEP and then going on to get a masters in some IT/CIS degree. Daddy is not so sure of the value of CLEPing your way to a degree. I am not sure that that is the best thing for me...

Friday I got my books from B&N. They are larger in size than I thought they would be. I haven't looked at them too much as I was busy Friday getting ready for my sermon on Sabbath. One thing I should note is that I should take the CLEP English Composition test w/ Essay because then I only have half the questions I would without the essay (although I think I remember that if I enroll at Excelsior I should take their EngComp test...)

Incidentally, the lady from PhoenixU hasn't called back so I think she has given up on me. ;)
