Buy.com Order canceled
My Buy.com order was canceled so I think I will get the CLEP books at Wal-Mart tomorrow in Quincy. If I can't get them their I will have to have them shipped to Grandma and Grandpa's house so they will be in Michigan for this summer.

Purchased CLEP books
I purchased two CLEP books this morning from Buy.com:
Hopefully they will arrive Tuesday, but likely Wednesday. That is a very good price for those books shipped that fast. Shipping for most of these places is media mail which can take up to two weeks. I found that out when I bought some photography books from a place and decided I could wait however long it took for them to arrive. They arrived in two weeks after the two oro so weeks of processing time.
These books are new and are being shipping UPS 2-day.
I should mention the Cracking the CLEP 5th edition is officially released Tuesday so they may not ship until then if the book is under an embargo. Anyway, two days from then still gets it to me soon enough.

Books to buy
I spent some time today looking for the best Calculus textbook.
I believe it is best to get the CLEP study guide from Amazon as it is cheapest there.
Math...
If Saxon I will need to get the solutions too.
Possibly this is a better option...

Andrews and CLEP
I checked this morning into how much credit Andrews will accept from CLEP tests.
Andrews does accept both CLEP and DANTE tests for transfer students. They also allow testing in the freshman year at Andrews for more credit. Counseling and Testing administers CLEPs for a $22 fee above the $60 to College Board. I am not sure if it is on a computer or not.
The limit of amount is stated as follows: "Andrews University provides opportunities for advanced placement by following the methods listed below. This applies only to matriculated students in good and regular standing. Regardless of the method, the most credit that may be applied to a baccalaureate degree is 32 semester credits." The following section then talks about AP, CLEP, and DANTE tests.

Talk with lady from Phoenix U.
I talked with the lady from Phoenix University this morning as scheduled. She was not too happy about the developments going on, particularly the idea of CLEPing out the first two years-worth of materials. At first she said that CLEPing would be so hard that it would be almost impossible to get credits that way. Then she told me that it would be easy enough to take CLEP tests and take courses from PUO.
I am not sure I believe her. Something else she told me was that the Department of Education stipulates that you can only earn 30 credits from testing toward a degree. I have not been able to verify this. I challenged her on that and she challenged me to find out myself. So I will. ;)
Also, she doesn't believe that Calculus is required for any CS/IT degree. I told her that University of North Dakota requires it and she changed her tune a little.
She is going to call back Friday at 10:00AM. I hope it will not be too confrontational...

May 22 - Talk with Randy
I had a long conversation with Randy Steffens Jr. last night. He was very encouraging and gave me a lot of good information. He recommended that I get the Official CLEP Study Guide right away which I plan to do.
